Greensboro Mitigation Bank

Greensboro Mitigation Bank is located in Greene County, Georgia. The 80-acre project has provided nearly 9,000 linear feet of stream and riparian buffer mitigation in the Upper Oconee. This approved U.S. Army Corps of Engineers mitigation bank offers stream and riparian buffer mitigation credits its approved service area.

This site was used for over 75 years as cattle pasture and hayfields for a dairy operation. Restoration of Boswell Branch and associated tributaries on the Bank will aid in the potential de-listing of Town Creek, which is considered impaired due to fecal coliform and drains to Lake Oconee. The Bank is adjacent to and surrounded by other conserved lands including the Oconee National Forest and Redlands Management Area. The Bank is protected in perpetuity with a Restrictive Covenant and is being managed and monitored to ensure long-term success.
